The opening twenty minutes between the Wolverines and Terriers featured power plays for both sides, with the home team scoring the lone goal of the period.
Cash Lanigan continued his strong rookie campaign, ripping his seventh of the year top corner past Griffin Wright to break the deadlock.
Warman went 0-for-2 on the power play, while the Terriers had a brief three-second man advantage.
Yorkton controlled the shot clock, outshooting Warman 15–4.
In the middle frame, the Terriers doubled their lead off the rush as Jake Briltz snapped a blocker-side shot for his first of the season.
The Wolverines had an answer, with Bexon Fox slipping one five-hole to cut the deficit in half.
Just 41 seconds later, the Terriers restored their two-goal cushion as Thomas Ries whacked a loose puck at the side of the net past Wright for his seventh of the season. Jye Zawatsky picked up the lone assist.
The Terriers led the shot count 32–14 after forty minutes.
In the third period, the Terriers added three more for good measure.
First, William Léonard buried his 16th of the season, extending his goal streak to five games and making it 4–1. Owen Roberts then scored his first SJHL goal—and his first point as a Yorkton Terrier—before Courchesne capped things off late to stretch the lead to 6–1.
Callum Creig was solid when called upon, turning aside 25 shots as the Terriers extended their winning streak to three.
They now shift their focus to the Weyburn Red Wings as they head to Weyburn on Tuesday night.
