It was an MVP-caliber season for Yorkton Terriers’ Jaron Desnoyers. Though he didn’t claim the SJHL Most Valuable Player award, he still walked away with well-deserved year-end honors.

Desnoyers’ impressive 30-goal, 45-assist campaign earned him the title of SJHL Forward of the Year, capping off a remarkably consistent season in which he registered a point in 41 of the 48 games he played.

Beyond his on-ice performance, Desnoyers was a key leader in the locker room, serving as team captain from the start of the season. His leadership played a crucial role in Yorkton’s turnaround, as the team rebounded from missing the playoffs last year to nearly capturing the Viterra Division banner.

From opening night against Weyburn—where he put the league on notice with a four-goal, five-point performance—it was clear that the 20-year-old Stony Plain, Alberta native was set for a special season.

The Terriers kick off their 2024-25 playoff run on Friday night with Game One against Highway 10 rival, the Melville Millionaires. Catch all the action on FloHockey or listen live on GX94.
