In the opening period, it was the visitors who struck first, as Roan Burgess beat Callum Creig high on the glove side.

The Terriers, however, had an answer, scoring two unanswered goals. Evan Auld capitalized on a loose puck in the crease to tie the game, notching his fourth of the season.

Moments later on the power play, rookie defenceman Mikale Budz found a seam at the top of the point and snapped his fourth of the campaign past Stevens, giving the Terriers their first lead of the night.

The Terriers outshot the Wings 19–14 in the first period.

In the middle frame, the Terriers extended their lead by two goals. Cash Lanigan continued his strong rookie campaign, jamming home his eighth of the year.

Evan Auld’s stick remained hot as he added his second of the evening on the power play, with Vinay Junek and Aidan Vallance recording the assists, and more importantly, giving Yorkton their largest lead of the night.

The Terriers held a 39–30 shot advantage after forty minutes.

The Red Wings got off to a quick start in the third period, cutting the Terriers’ lead to two as Callas Pierce beat Creig just 1:31 into the frame.

The Terriers and Red Wings then traded goals midway through the period. Owen Roberts undressed Stevens for his second of the season, but Weyburn answered just 12 seconds later when Burgess replied

Any doubt was quickly put to rest as William Léonard and Ryder McDonald added goals for Yorkton, helping the Terriers pull away and cruise to a 7–3 victory on home ice.

With the win, the Terriers improve to 15-10-2 on the season. They’ll now prepare for a home-and-home series with the Estevan Bruins this weekend before closing out their schedule ahead of the Christmas break.
