It’s Another Yorkton Terriers Game Day!
Tonight, the Terriers hit the road to Estevan to face the Bruins for the fifth time this season in the first half of a home-and-home series. The teams will clash again tomorrow night in Yorkton. With three more meetings scheduled before the end of the season, these two squads are about to get very familiar with each other.
The season series has been completely one-sided in favor of the Terriers, who have won all four previous matchups while outscoring the Bruins 16-7.
Between the pipes, Callum Creig has carried the load recently, starting three straight games, including back-to-back wins over Battlefords and Notre Dame. However, in the most recent game against the Bruins at Affinity Place, it was Ethan Farrow who stood tall, making 28 saves in a solid performance.
For head coach Emery Olauson and his staff, having two goaltenders pushing each other all season long has been a great problem to have. Their strong play has been one of many bright spots for the Terriers this year.
Another standout as of late has been captain Jaron Desnoyers. Since returning to the lineup on January 24, he has taken his game to another level, tallying 12 points in seven games—including five multi-point performances. The Stony Plain, AB, product has been a model of consistency in the SJHL, recording points in all but six games this season. His outstanding play earned him SJHL Forward of the Week honors, and he currently sits just three points off the league lead with 55.
