Terriers, Bruins Set for Crucial Clash

The SJHL trade deadline has come and gone, and the Yorkton Terriers emerged stronger, adding three new pieces to their blue line.

Defensemen Gavin Bartha and Tyler Palin both made their Terriers debuts Friday night and wasted no time making an impact, helping Yorkton roll to a dominant 8–1 victory over the Melfort Mustangs on home ice.

The third addition is Nathan Grey, whose CJHL rights were acquired from the Richmond Sockeyes. Grey has been loaned to the Terriers by the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League.

In that victory, the Terriers’ top line left its fingerprints all over the scoresheet. Jye Zawatsky, Gabriel Courchesne, and William Léonard combined for a big night offensively, with Courchesne and Léonard each scoring twice while Zawatsky chipped in four assists.

Tonight’s matchup looms large for both the Terriers and the Estevan Bruins. The two teams are separated by just five points in the standings, with Yorkton holding four games in hand.

Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM at Westland Insurance Arena.
