The Yorkton Terriers return to the Westland Insurance Arena tonight, aiming to make it back-to-back wins over the Dauphin Kings as the two teams face off for the second and final time this preseason.
These two clubs met just last night in Dauphin, where the Terriers skated away with a 5–3 victory after overcoming an early 2–0 deficit in the opening period. Yorkton’s special teams proved to be the difference, as they capitalized three times on the powerplay. Forwards Trae Peterson and Dylan Brass each recorded a pair of points in the win. The Terriers also showed off their depth, with goals coming from five different players across the lineup — a promising sign for the team as they continue to build chemistry heading into the regular season.
Following tonight’s rematch with Dauphin, Yorkton will close out its exhibition schedule with a home-and-home series against the Melville Millionaires. From there, the focus will shift to the regular season opener on September 19th, when the Terriers hit the road to take on the Weyburn Red Wings.
Puck drop is set for 3:00 PM.
