WILCOX, SK: The Yorkton Terriers came out on top in a dramatic shootout, defeating the Notre Dame Hounds 4-3. Dustin Renas secured the win with the lone shootout goal, while goaltender Ethan Farrow delivered a stellar performance, stopping 41 of 44 shots.

Both teams came out firing, exchanging goals in an action-packed first period. The Terriers struck early, with Jye Zawatsky opening the scoring at 4:46, assisted by William Leonard and Tate Schofer. Just 28 seconds later, Keenan Ingram doubled the lead with help from Renas and Carter Briltz.

The Hounds responded with their own offensive burst. Marko Djordjevic capitalized on a setup by Damian Metastasio and Ripley Garden at 8:17, and Vincent Palmarin tied the game on the power play with assists from Liam Hunks and Djordjevic.

The Terriers regained the lead early in the second period when Schofer scored unassisted at 2:37. However, the Hounds wouldn’t back down. Metastasio found the back of the net at 17:34, tying the game again and setting the stage for a tense final frame.

The third period and overtime showcased disciplined defence and clutch goaltending. Farrow and Notre Dame’s Spencer Borsos stood tall, keeping their teams alive with key saves.

The overtime saw both teams traded chances, but both goaltenders stood tall. In the shootout, neither team’s first two shooters could convert. Yorkton’s Renas then broke the deadlock with a pretty move to beat Borsos. Farrow shut the door on the Hounds, stopping all three attempts to seal the victory.

With the win, the Terriers moved into a tie for first place in the Viterra Division with the Melville Millionaires at 29 points a piece.
