YORKTON, SK: Dustin Renas scored twice, and Ethan Farrow made 31 saves as the Yorkton Terriers defeated the Notre Dame Hounds 4-2 at Westland Insurance Arena.

In the first period, both teams traded early power play opportunities, generating a few scoring chances. However, both Spencer Borsos and Ethan Farrow stood tall in net.

The Terriers controlled most of the opening twenty minutes and were rewarded in the dying seconds of the period. Dustin Renas ripped his 17th goal of the season past Borsos on the rush, beating him blocker side to give the Terriers a 1-0 lead.

Shots were even at 10-10 after the first.

In the second period, the Terriers’ offence came to life, firing 14 shots and striking three times.

First, Renas batted home his second of the night past Borsos, with Jye Zawatsky picking up his second assist of the game.

Just under five minutes later, they added another—this time on the power play. David Coyle snapped one under the bar after a slick feed from Jeff Hammond, extending the lead to 3-0.

The Hounds answered with a power play marker of their own, as Pherson Loehndorf’s point shot floated past Farrow, cutting the lead to 3-1.

However, the Terriers responded quickly. Tylan Henrikson intercepted a pass in the neutral zone, broke in alone from the red line, and picked the corner under the glove for his sixth goal of the season—more importantly, restoring the Terriers’ three-goal lead.

The Terriers held a 24-17 shot advantage after 40 minutes.

In the third period, the Hounds applied pressure and cut the lead in half with a late goal—once again off the stick of Loehndorf.

However, the Yorkton Terriers held strong to secure their 24th victory of the season.

Ethan Farrow stopped 31 of 33 shots for his 16th win of the campaign, as the Terriers look to keep their momentum going on the road in Estevan on Sunday.
