Red-Hot Terriers Rise to 2nd Overall, Host La Ronge

The Yorkton Terriers woke up this morning sitting second overall in the SJHL standings after leapfrogging the Battleford North Stars with a dominant 7–2 victory over the Nipawin Hawks on home ice.

Yorkton’s depth was on full display, with seven different players finding the back of the net. Gabriel Courchesne surpassed the 70-point mark with a goal and two assists, moving to 72 points and into sole possession of first place in the league scoring race.

Points are at a premium this time of year, and with just six games remaining on the schedule, the Terriers have put themselves in an excellent position, holding a six-point lead atop the division.

Tonight, the La Ronge Ice Wolves return to Westland Arena for the second time in four days. The two teams met Wednesday night, when Yorkton escaped with a 4–3 overtime victory thanks to Cash Lanigan.

Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM. Fans can watch the game live on FloHockey.
