Over the course of the week, we will be highlighting the five 20-year-olds graduating from the Yorkton Terriers program.
First up is Estero, Florida product Tyler Palin.
The steady defenceman suited up 74 times for the Orange and Black, scoring 15 goals and adding 34 assists. He also appeared in 23 playoff games, recording eight points along the way.
When reflecting on his time in Yorkton, Palin pointed to the relationships and growth that defined his experience.
“When I look back on my time in Yorkton, I’ll remember the time with the boys the most. Yorkton has helped my game in so many ways—they’ve made me a better 200-foot player, a more mature defenceman within our system, and most importantly, a better leader on the ice.”
Palin didn’t begin the season in Yorkton, but made the decision to return to the Parkland Region after Christmas. His arrival—along with the additions of Nate Gray and Gavin Bartha—helped transform the Terriers’ defensive core almost overnight.
Now, Palin is set to continue his hockey career at Keene State (NCAA III), where he’s embracing the opportunity for a fresh start.
“What excites me the most about transitioning to the NCAA level next year is having to make a name for myself again and kind of starting from scratch at the bottom of the totem pole. I enjoy the challenge and the process of becoming someone somewhere.”
The Terriers organization thanks Tyler for his dedication and contributions over the past two seasons, and wishes him all the best at the next level.
Once a Terrier, Always a Terrier.
