ESTEVAN, SK: Vinay Junek and Jaron Desnoyers both scored twice and Ethan Farrow made 28 Saves as the Yorkton Terriers defeated the Estevan Bruins 6-3 at Affinity Place.

The Yorkton Terriers’ offence got off to a quick start as Vinnay Junek capitalized on a Bruins turnover, snapping the puck past Luke Norman who was making his SJHL Debut for the Bruins. The goal marked Junek’s eighth of the campaign.

The Bruins wasted no time responding. Just 19 seconds later, Rylan Ringor buried a rebound off the faceoff, tying the game at one.

Shortly after, on the power play, the Terriers’ captain restored the lead, ripping his 19th of the season top shelf.

Once again, the Bruins answered quickly—this time just 13 seconds later—as Steven Streanka slid his seventh goal of the year past Farrow, evening the score at 2-2.

The Terriers controlled most of the first period, outshooting the Bruins 18-9.

In the middle frame, the Terriers struck early once again. Junek capitalized on another turnover, reaching double digits on the season.

Yorkton added to their lead off the rush when Evan Auld set up Quinn Tavender for a backdoor tap-in, marking Tavender’s third goal of the season.

The Terriers had a late power play but couldn’t convert. Yorkton outshot the Bruins 11-7 in the second period.

The Terriers extended their lead midway through the third period. After serving a two-minute cross-checking minor, he found a loose puck in front of the net and slid it past Norman for his seventh goal of the season.

The Bruins narrowed the gap late with a power-play goal, but Desnoyers’ empty-netter secured the victory for the Terriers.

Farrow earned his 17th win of the season, stopping 28 of 31 shots.

The Terriers return to action Tuesday night at home as they host the Melfort Mustangs at Westland Insurance Arena.
