Keenan Ingram delivered a stellar performance with four goals and an assist, while David Coyle added two third-period goals to propel the Yorkton Terriers to a decisive 7-3 victory over the Estevan Bruins. The win marked the Terriers’ eighth consecutive triumph, further solidifying their hot streak.
The Terriers wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. Just 1:12 into the game, Ingram continued his red-hot form by netting his 18th goal of the season and third in the past two games.
The Bruins quickly responded, as Kent Moors capitalized on a rush, slipping the puck past an outstretched Ethan Farrow to tie the game at 1-1.
Yorkton regained momentum shortly after, thanks to a power play opportunity. Tyler Palin set up Dustin Renas with a pinpoint pass, and Renas fired it under the crossbar for his 15th goal of the season. The Terriers dominated the first period, outshooting the Bruins 12-9.
The second period saw Yorkton extend their lead. Ingram and Renas connected on a 2-on-1 play, with Ingram burying his second goal of the night past Bruins goaltender Polhill to make it 3-1.
Estevan refused to back down, narrowing the gap as Kaelen Whittingham jammed home a loose puck in front of Farrow for his sixth goal of the season. Despite going 0-for-2 on the power play in the second frame, the Bruins outshot the Terriers 16-8.
Yorkton’s offence exploded in the third period. Ingram completed his hat trick just 35 seconds in, further extending the lead to 4-2. Shortly after, Coyle scored his 14th goal of the season, pushing the Terriers’ advantage to 5-2.
The Bruins managed to claw back slightly when Luke Hogan tipped Kieran Ronan’s point shot on the power play, cutting the deficit to 5-3.
However, Yorkton responded decisively. Ingram struck again late in the period, scoring his fourth goal of the night—his 21st of the season—catapulting him to second in the league’s goal-scoring race.
Coyle sealed the victory in spectacular fashion with a highlight-reel Michigan goal, bringing the crowd to its feet and cementing a commanding 7-3 win.
With their winning streak now at eight games, the Terriers are cementing themselves among the elite in the SJHL
