It was a dream start to the postseason for the Yorkton Terriers, as they secured a 4-1 victory on home ice against the Melville Millionaires in Game One.

And what an atmosphere it was! Over 2,000 fans filled Westland Insurance Arena, bringing energy and noise. The Parkland Region certainly got the memo, and the Terriers delivered, giving them plenty to cheer about.

David Coyle opened the scoring, while Tate Schofer, Evan Auld, and Jaron Desnoyers—who also notched an assist on the opening goal—found the back of the net.

It was a complete team effort from the Terriers, who rolled four lines and kept the Millionaires under ten shots in every period. They outshot Melville 15-5 in the third, controlling play from start to finish.

Goaltender Ethan Farrow, who got the nod for the playoff opener, was sharp when called upon, stopping 18 shots. His biggest save of the night came in the second period with the game tied 1-1, when he stoned Simon Parini on a 2-on-0 break with Jadon Iyogun. Shortly after, the Terriers regained the lead and never looked back.

Puck drop for Game Two is set for 7:00 PM. Catch the action on FloHockey or tune in to GX94 on the radio.
