Desnoyers Named SJHL MVP of Month

When you put up 19 points in a single month, recognition is all but guaranteed.

That was exactly the case for Yorkton Terriers’ captain Jaron Desnoyers, who dominated the month of February.

In 10 games, he recorded 9 goals and 10 assists, including six multi-point efforts, cementing himself as one of the league’s premier offensive threats.

Desnoyers’ red-hot play has propelled him to the top of the SJHL scoring race with 66 points, tying Humboldt’s Jacob Strizzi—despite having played four fewer games. His 27 goals rank fourth in the league, tied with linemate David Coyle. Coyle, fueled in part by Desnoyers’ playmaking, also caught fire in February, tallying 17 points in 11 games, making him another worthy candidate for Player of the Month honors.

Beyond the scoresheet, Desnoyers has been instrumental in the Terriers’ turnaround, both on and off the ice. A model of consistency, he has been a big piece of the puzzle in Yorkton’s push for their first division title since the 2019-20 campaign.

Out of the 44 games he has suited up for this season, the Terriers’ captain has registered at least a point in all but seven. He also holds the league’s longest active point streak at 12 games, racking up 16 points over that span.
