Canalta Hotels SJHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Chantz Petruic, Yorkton Hyundai Terriers Junior Hockey Club
1999 F Chantz Petruic (Moose Jaw SK) continued his assault on opposing teams this past week by scoring 4-goals and 3-assists in 3-games played. Petruic factored in on six straight Terrier goals, including all four on Thursday in a 5-4 loss to the La Ronge Ice Wolves as Petruic picked up a goal and three helpers. He set up his team’s only goal on Friday in a loss to Nipawin and then he found the back of the net twice in a 5-3 win over the Melfort Mustangs on Saturday as the Terriers finished a three game in three night road trip. Petruic has an eye popping 35-goals and 33-assists in 34-games played. He’d still be in the top ten in overall scoring if you only applied his goals to his point totals. Runner-up: Kaeden Taphorn, Yorkton.
