The Terriers put up a valiant effort, but fell to the Flin Flon Bombers 3-1. Logan Cyca scored the lone goal for Yorkton, while Caleb Allen was sharp in goal, making 35 saves.

Flin Flon opened the scoring early in the first period. A turnover in Yorkton’s zone saw Jeremi Tremblay break-in one on one against Allen, beating the Yorkton net-minder to make it 1-0. The Terriers responded later in the frame. Cyca threw a shot towards the Bomber net, which hit a bunch of bodies before going past Kenneth Marquart to make it 1-1. The power-play goal ended an 0-for-43 goalless drought for the Terriers on the man advantage.

Both teams pressed for a go ahead marker, but the goalies were fantastic in goal, including Marquart making two terrific saves in the second period to keep the game tied at 1-1. A breakthrough was finally found late in the third period. Cole Duperreault flew down the left wing, firing a shot over the glove of Allen to give Flin Flon a 2-1 lead. The Bombers made it 3-1 a minute later, when a point shot from Olafson was deflected by Matt Egan past Allen.

Yorkton wraps up a three game road trip on Saturday when they head to La Ronge to take on the Ice Wolves. Puck drop is at 7:30pm.
