Kenneth Marquart made 21 saves while Zach Cain had a goal against a familiar foe, and the Yorkton Terriers fell 2-0 to the Flin Flon Bombers. Caleb Allen was spectacular in net making 35 saves in the loss, while Grady Hoffman impressed in his SJHL debut, providing a number of high end chances.

Bombers opened the scoring 2:04 into the contest. A point shot from Rylan Pearce deflected off of Cain’s stick past Allen for Cain’s 18th goal of the season. It would be the end of the scoring until late in the game, but the physicality picked up giving the game a playoff atmosphere. Liam Bridger stapled Dalton Mayes from behind into the boards, sparking a scrum late in the second period, while JD Hall’s hit on Jacob Vockler sparked another safety meeting early in the third. Both players were ejected for their hits. Allen also provided a candidate for save of the year, as he robbed Jeremi Tremblay on the goal line with the paddle of his stick. However, the Bombers found a dagger with 2:13 remaining in the contest. Barron Stibbe got in behind the defence for a breakaway, opening up Allen for his first career SJHL goal, giving the Bombers the 2-0 victory.

Yorkton is back in action on Friday when they host the Melfort Mustangs. The game will be on the GX 94 alternate stream with the pre-game show at 6:50pm and play-by-play kicking off at 7:00pm.
