Battle of Highway 10 Renewed as Terriers Visit Melville

Whether it’s a seemingly meaningless preseason tilt or the opening round of the playoffs, it’s always must-watch hockey when the Battle of Highway 10 is reignited.

The Yorkton Terriers and Melville Millionaires, fresh off meeting in the opening round of the SJHL playoffs in back-to-back seasons, will square off tonight in the Rail City for the first of two preseason meetings in as many nights. The Highway 10 rivals will head down the road to Yorkton for the rematch tomorrow night.

The Terriers enter tonight’s contest with a 1-0-1 preseason record after a pair of games against the Virden Oil Capitals of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. Yorkton picked up a 6-4 victory in Virden before falling 3-2 in a shootout at home the following night.

With the preseason winding into its final stages, tonight provides both teams with another opportunity to evaluate players battling to crack their respective 2026-27 rosters. For those on the bubble, the final preseason games offer one more chance to make an impression and prove they belong when the regular season gets underway.

Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. from the CN Community Centre in Melville. Fans can catch all the action live on FloHockey.
