5 Games • 4 Days • 1610 KMs • One Incredible Performance
Yorkton Terriers Defenceman #77 Thomas Ries wrapped up one of the most impressive and exhausting weeks of hockey anyone could imagine — and he made every single shift count.
Ries began his journey on Tuesday, November 4th in Martinsville at the 2025 Western All-Star Showcase, battling for a coveted spot to represent Team Canada at the Junior A World Challenge in Trois-Rivières, Quebec this December.
And he wasted zero time proving he belongs on the national stage.
November 4 – Martinsville (7:30 PM)
Team SJHL Win – Ries 1 Assist
November 5 – A Two-Game Marathon (less than 8 hours apart)
11:30 AM – Martinsville: Ries 1 Goal, 1 Assist
7:30 PM – La Ronge (361 km away): Ries 1 Assist
On a day where most players focus on a single game, Ries played two — in two different cities — and put up 3 points in the span of 10 hours.
That’s not just talent. That’s commitment, conditioning, and absolute heart.
November 7 – Battlefords (7:30 PM)
Ries 1 Assist
November 8 – Battlefords (7:30 PM)
Another hard-fought battle, closing out a grueling stretch of hockey at an elite level.
5 Games in 4 Days. Over 1,610 Kilometres Traveled.
And through it all, Thomas Ries looked like he belonged among the best Junior A players in Canada.
His skating.
His compete level.
His poise under pressure.
His ability to impact the game night after night — no matter the rink, the opponent, or the miles behind him.
This was a statement week from a player with the talent, character, and engine to play on the biggest stages.
Now We Wait.
The showcase is complete. The work is done. The eyes of Team Canada’s selection staff now turn to the final roster decisions for the 2025 Junior A World Challenge.
One thing is certain:
Thomas Ries made it impossible to ignore him.
