For the second time in less than two weeks, the Yorkton Terriers will welcome the Flin Flon Bombers to the Westland Insurance Arena.
In their last meeting, the Terriers’ special teams stole the show, torching the Bombers’ penalty kill by converting four times on five power play opportunities. Yorkton’s power play continues to lead the SJHL, operating at an impressive clip of over 30% on the season — a key weapon that has helped them stay competitive early in the year.
The Terriers enter tonight’s contest with a 5-5-1 record and are coming off an impressive 2–0 shutout victory at home against the defending SJHL champion Melfort Mustangs. Goaltender Callum Creig earned the start in goal and turned aside all 23 shots he faced to record his first shutout of the season. It was a complete team effort for Yorkton, who look to build on that momentum against a tough Flin Flon squad.
As for the Bombers, they’re looking to get back on track after a rough stretch. After a hot 6–0 start to the season, Flin Flon has since dropped six straight games and now sits at an even 6–6–0 record. They’re coming off a 4–2 road loss last Saturday in Estevan and will be eager to snap their skid tonight in Yorkton.
Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM at Westland Insurance Arena.
