Terriers Seek Seventh Straight Win

YORKTON, SK: Two of the hottest teams in the SJHL clash tonight at Westland Insurance Arena. The Yorkton Terriers are riding a six-game winning streak and just secured their spot in the playoffs with a 3-1 victory over La Ronge on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, the Flin Flon Bombers have won four straight and earned points in nine of their last ten games.

Tonight marks the fourth and final meeting of the season between these teams. They haven’t faced off since November 30, when the Bombers claimed a 6-3 win. However, the Terriers hold a slight 2-1 edge in the season series, outscoring Flin Flon 9-1 in their two victories.

David Coyle continues to light the lamp for Yorkton. After earning SJHL MVP of the Week honours with a nine-point performance, he followed up with goals in back-to-back games and now boasts a four-game goal streak, tallying 12 points over that span.

During their six-game winning streak, the Terriers have benefited from strong goaltending by both netminders. Callum Creig has secured four wins, while Ethan Farrow has added two, providing Yorkton with steady and timely play between the pipes.

The playoff positioning is coming down to the wire. With Tuesday’s win, the Terriers jumped over the Weyburn Red Wings to third place. The top 4 in the league pulled away from the pack, leaving Melville, Humboldt, Battlefords, Kindersley, and La Ronge battling for the final four spots.

Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM at Westland Insurance Arena.
