Dogs are supposed to roll over, but not Yorkton Terriers.
The Terriers were down 2-0 after the 1st period, but battled back to force overtime, and eventually win 4-3, grabbing a 3-2 series lead over the Kindersley Klippers in the SJHL Sherwood Conference Final.
Jordan Menke scored the only goal of the second period, on a short-handed 2-on-1.
Adam Moar tied it up at 9:59 of the third period, but the Klippers restored their lead with 4:03 remaining when David Ahl sent a seeing-eye wrist shot into the top corner.
But, with the goalie out, Blaine Tendler sent a one-timer toward the net, that bounced off Ryan Griffiths' skate and in with 39.7 seconds left.
The Klippers had a great chance to end it in overtime, when Andrew Dommett found Braeden Adamyk in the slot, but he fanned on the one-timer.
Minutes later, Troy Smukowich buried a rebound, and the Terriers piled off the bench with the 4-3 (OT) win. (Audio clip below)
Shots on goal were 51-31 Terriers.
Game 6, and a chance to move on the SJHL Final for the Terriers is Sunday back in Yorkton.
It's a 7:30 start at Farrell Agencies Arena, Pre Game Show starts at 7:15 on GX94.
